King City supports over 300 BECE candidates!

King City, 2 November 2022 – King City, a sister city of Appolonia City, supported over 300 candidates taking the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Rendeavour, the city development company behind King City, provided mock exam preparation for candidates from the Assakae/Whindo communities in Takoradi and Appolonia/Kpone Katamanso in Accra.

During the week of the final BECE, King City and Appolonia City provided free transportation and two hot meals per day for the candidates, helping them stay in the best physical and mental state to take the exam, as well as lessening the burden for parents.

The Municipal Director of Education for the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA), Catherine Andoh Mensah, thanked King City for the initiative. She indicated that the company’s generosity has particularly helped the candidates who came from an underprivileged background, and they are hopeful and confident of seeing King City’s support reflected in their results.

“We are pleased to support the communities around us. We know examinations can leave many candidates apprehensive and stressed,” said Mr. Pius Petison, project manager for King City. “We believe this initiative will go a long way to relieve their stress as they prepare to face their most important examination yet.”

King City is a 1,500-acre mixed-use land development in the western region of Ghana, an area that will accommodate residential and commercial growth in the region’s mining and energy sector gateway.

Appolonia City is a 2,325-acre mixed-use and mixed-income urban development just 20 kilometres from the centre of Accra. The project includes a variety of social infrastructures underpinned by world-class construction and estate management services.
